Deleting your account and data

You can delete your Yarify account at any time, from inside the app. You do not need to contact us, ask permission, or give a reason.

Deleting your account deletes your data. Not hidden, not deactivated, not kept on a shelf in case you come back. Your profile, your photos, your messages, your matches, your likes and super likes, your notifications, your settings, your subscription and payment history and every device you signed in on are erased from our database permanently, and we cannot get them back afterwards either.

How to delete your account

Open Settings, scroll to the bottom, and choose Delete account. Confirm when asked. That is the whole process.

The same option is on the Yarify website at yarify.in, under Settings.

Deleting some of your data, without deleting your account

You do not have to choose between keeping your account and removing something you no longer want on it. Most of your data can be deleted piece by piece, from inside the app, and it goes immediately.

Photos: open Edit Profile, select a photo and delete it. It is removed from your profile and from our storage.

Conversations: open the chat, choose Unmatch. The match and the conversation are removed for both of you.

Profile details: open Edit Profile and clear any field. Your bio, prompts, hometown, occupation, education, height, religion, intention and lifestyle answers are all optional and can be emptied at any time. Location can be changed or replaced in Settings.

Anything else: email us and say what you want removed. We will confirm the account is yours before acting, and complete the request within 30 days.

What cannot be removed separately is the small amount of data the account itself needs to exist: your sign-in identity, your date of birth and your first name. Those go when the account goes, as described above.

If you signed up with Facebook or Google

Removing Yarify from your Facebook or Google account settings only disconnects the sign-in. It does not delete your Yarify account, and we are not told that you did it. To delete your account and your data, use Delete account in the app as described above, or email us.

What happens, and when

The moment you confirm, your account goes inert. Your profile stops appearing in discovery, nobody can find you, message you or open your profile, your matches and conversations become inaccessible, and every signed-in session is revoked on every device you own.

Your data is then held for 30 days and no longer. That window exists for one reason: so that a deletion made by accident, or in a bad moment, can be undone by simply signing back in. Nobody on Yarify can see you or reach you during it.

After 30 days the data is permanently erased on our next scheduled purge. Everything listed at the top of this page goes with it. Nothing is archived, nothing is anonymised and kept for analytics, and nothing is sold or passed on. Once that purge runs, the deletion is irreversible for you and for us.

Messages you sent to other people

Your conversations are deleted along with your account, which removes them for the people you were talking to as well. What we cannot reach is anything someone saved outside Yarify, such as a screenshot on their own phone. That is true of every messaging service and it is worth knowing before you share something.

If you cannot sign in

Email us from the address on your account and ask for it to be deleted. We will confirm the account is yours before acting, and complete the request within 30 days.
